Injection Molding Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Injection Molding Technician to join our technical team in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role focused on mold setup, machine start-up, troubleshooting, and process documentation. The ideal candidate will bring mechanical aptitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire to grow within the injection molding field.

Perform precision mold setups including installation of molds, waterlines, hydraulics, and pneumatic connections, ensuring safe and efficient machine readiness. Initiate and shut down molding processes, following proper startup procedures, purging protocols, and parameter verifications. Troubleshoot processing issues related to quality, cycle time, or material flow, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. Operate overhead cranes and hoisting systems safely and in accordance with company policy to conduct mold changes and equipment handling. Monitor and adjust equipment, including mini dryers and blenders, to maintain optimal production standards. Document setups and process parameters clearly and accurately for consistency and traceability using digital systems and setup sheets. Collaborate with QA and production teams to ensure parts meet quality specifications and resolve any non-conformance. Support preventative maintenance tasks and communicate equipment concerns to supervisors or maintenance personnel promptly. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, adhering to 5S standards and promoting a culture of safety and accountability.

Qualifications



Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and valve gate systems Comfortable with computer systems for setup documentation, process tracking, and troubleshooting Solid understanding of math, including use of the Imperial and Metric systems Ability to read and interpret technical documents, setup sheets, and standard operating procedures Strong attention to detail with proven problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment Basic knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems considered an asset Effective communicator; able to work independently or as part of a team Physically capable of standing for extended periods, lifting, and safely handling components and equipment

Continental (12 Hour Shifts)


Two Weeks Days

Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday

Two Weeks Nights

Week 3: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday Week 4: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday


MAD (8 Hour Shifts)

Midnight: 11pm-7am Afternoons: 3pm-11pm Days: 7am-3pm

Preferred:



1-2 years of experience in an injection molding or plastic manufacturing environment Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent Bilingualism not required
