Job Summary

We are currently looking for an HR/Payroll Coordinator who will oversee and perform in the administration of the company's overall Human Resources, Payroll & Benefits services for all hourly employees in all IPEX Western Canadian Plants.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Administer and process payroll submissions for all hourly employees at all IPEX Edmonton and Langley Locations in accordance with each particular pay schedule.
  • Receives & computes all payroll and converts documents into computer acceptable form.
  • Ensures that data input and files are entered as required in order to maintain proper payroll schedules.
  • Respond to enquiries regarding Retirement Benefits
  • Administer and support Corporate & Location Human Resources practices and policies.
  • Administers basic Short-Term Disability (STD) Claims, with support from the Edmonton MSC & Langley Admin Support Position when reasonably required.
  • Manage the employee database and filing system
  • Researches and prepares all employment verifications
  • Recognizes and endeavors to have supervisors' correct errors in original data entry prior to processing
  • Maintains employee payroll records with up-to-date information
  • Distributes disbursement cheques and documentation needed for payroll liabilities
  • Maintains accurate records for assisting in the preparation of quarterly and annual payroll documentation such as T4 forms, unemployment reports, mid-year closing reports, etc
  • Maintains privacy of payroll records in accordance with PIPEDA and FOIP.
  • Maintains the backup role of Corporate Kronos Super User.
  • Performs office administration duties for the Western Canada HR Department Office.
  • Performs other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned.
Requirements

Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of HR experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience administering and processing Payroll required
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • High School Diploma or College Diploma in Human Resources; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) is an asset
  • Previous experience with an automated time and attendance system (e.g. Kronos, Dayforce) is an asset
  • Knowledge of relevant provincial and federal employment laws and regulations
  • Strong skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
