Location: This position will be located in our Winnipeg office.

The opportunity:
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide strategic and timely support in day-to-day HR activities and functions and will be a point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, escalating to the Manager, Human resources where required.
The Human Resources Coordinator will support the HR department in performing a wide variety of tasks and projects related to the HR function.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Communicating and responding to employee inquiries on employment such as: policy and procedures; standards and regulations; salary and benefits; leave updates, etc., consulting with the HR Manager as required.
  • Becoming an HRIS system expert and assisting the Manager, Human Resources and Human Resources Business Partner in HRIS implementation and use, provides training to new teams and engages in ongoing system review and development, as required.
  • Recording employee leave and vacation in HRIS and handling all leave requests/forms for all staff, as required; processing STD/LTD applications as required.
  • Maintaining accurate databases of jurisdictional employment standards and related guidelines (COVID etc.) to ensure ongoing legal compliance in all company policies and practices.
  • Assisting the Manager, Culture & Engagement with Culture Committee research and project planning, including the creation and implementation of Committee activities and initiatives.
  • Undertaking research into HR tools, programs, and best practices as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Maintaining direct contact with the Manager, Human Resources for any questions or clarifications as required including providing updates on activities on a regular basis.
  • Partnering with the Talent Acquisition Specialists to update and/or develop job descriptions.
  • Acting as backup to Talent Acquisition Specialists.
  • Partnering with the Human Resources Business Partners on all Human Resources Operations needs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A diploma in business administration or human resources; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Current knowledge of standards and legislation as they relate to human resource management.
  • A demonstrated ability to research information and present findings and recommendations.
  • An ability to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to proactively organize and manage a high volume of time-sensitive tasks and work.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Exemplary interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Excellent attitude and a commitment to providing extraordinary service.
  • Bilingual French and English considered an asset
