This is an exciting opportunity for a Payroll/Human Resources student to gain in-depth understanding of WCH\xe2\x80\x99s Bi-weekly payroll, while working on WCH\xe2\x80\x99s HRIS system (Dayforce) and ensuring the legislative requirements are met. Additionally, the Payroll/Human Resources student will be exposed to benefits and pension administration responsibilities. This opportunity will provide you with the hands-on experience required for your PCP designation and your career as a payroll professional. This role includes but it not limited to: Assisting with the full payroll processing cycle:
New Hire entry
Timesheet adjustments
Changes
Salary/rate increase
Transfers and Leaves of absence
Terminations and ROEs
Payroll audits
Assisting with pension and benefits administration:
Entering new hire information into the Desjardins and HOOPP systems.
Terminating employees
Filing and sorting employee files
Additional responsibilities will include providing support for ongoing project work, collaborating with the Human Resources team, and responding to employee inquiries. Qualification
Enrolled in a Degree/Diploma program in Human Resources or Payroll
Highly organized individual with the ability to manage time efficiently
Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
A general understanding of Human resources and Payroll legislations (Collective Agreements, ESA, Human Rights Code, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pay Equity etc.)
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships and be an effective team player Knowledge of MS Office \xe2\x80\x93 proficient word and excel skills
