What You'll Do:
The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator is responsible for facilitating human resource and payroll functions and programs; which include but are not limited to: compensation, benefits, leave administration, off-boarding, employee relations, training and development, and performance management.
The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator ensures management and staff have accurate and timely information in order to make effective decisions. The individual collaborates with senior leaders/managers and ensures that their team achieves objectives in a manner consistent with company values. The Human Resources & Payroll Administrator strives to provide an outstanding workplace culture that maximizes employee engagement and supports employee development.
Responsibilities:
• Providing support to senior leaders/managers, employees and retirees; responding to all Human Resources requests or enquiries.
• Providing advice and support on company policies and procedures for all senior leaders/managers.
• Answering all internal and external human resource related queries and requests.
• Conducting exit interviews, logging feedback, and communicating any issues to appropriate senior leaders/managers.
• Leads on administering the group benefit plans, including the employee assistance program.
• Supports the Director of Human Resources on transition or renewal of company benefit plans.
• Leads on managing all Leave requests, short- and long-term disability procedures; including maintaining records and logs, communicating status updates regularly with appropriate staff, completing and submitting intake applications, liaising with benefit providers and managers, conducting bi-monthly well-being checks, and preparing monthly status reports.
• Collaborating with the Payroll Coordinator and providing back-up/cross-functional support when necessary for active, director and pension payrolls.
• Creating and distributing Human Resource related communications.
Requirements:
• Candidates must reside in Canada and be authorized to work in Canada.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in human resource work required.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in payroll processing, including experience with payroll software.
• Direct experience with HRIS databases is preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
• Consistency of applying accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail approaches.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a team environment in required.
• Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or a related field is preferred.
• PCP designation is preferred or be willing to complete PCP designation.
