E M P L O Y M E N T O P P O R T U N I T YPOSITION: Human Resources Manager SALARY RANGE: $64,350.00 \xe2\x80\x93 $87,601.42.00 (FIMA) SUPERVISOR: Executive Director HOURS: Unless otherwise specified Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Two (2) paid 15-minute breaks One (1) unpaid half (1/2) hour meal break 7.5 hours a day - 37.5 hours a week - 75 hours biweekly ROLE: To maintain and enhance the organization by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices. Note:This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as required to meet the ongoing needs of the Montreal Lake Child and Family Agency Inc.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
In a consultancy role, work with all managers in understanding and implementing policies and procedures
Maintain staffing by recruiting and assisting in interviews and counselling managers on candidate selection
Ensure planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops
Maintain employee records by designing effective personnel filing system to include hiring information, promotions, transfers, evaluations and terminations
Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance
Develop and update job descriptions, advertisements and interview questions as needed
Make necessary arrangements for interviews including booking interview space, creating interview schedules, contacting applicants etc.
Complete reference checks prior to interviews
Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits and programs
Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive and confident attitudes towards Agency\xe2\x80\x99s goals
Prepare budgets for human resources operations
Prepare separation notices and related documentation including Records of Employment; conduct exit interviews if required
Keep accrual records up to date and issue to managers and staff on a biweekly basis; to include records of leave and overtime
Inform managers 3-weeks prior to an employee evaluation to provide ample time to complete
Maintain positive employee relations, services and counselling
Recommend training and development opportunities to managers and employees to enhance work performance
Revise forms that pertain to Human Resources as needed to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Foster effective methods of goal setting, communication and empowerment through responsibility to create employee ownership
Prepare monthly reports including recommendations to reduce absenteeism and turnover to the Executive Director
Prepare any required motions regarding human resources prior to Board meetings
Assist employees with benefits information when requested
Supervise clerical staff and temporary staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Business Administration or Human Resource Administration
3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience within a human resources environment
Full comprehension of office management systems and procedures
In depth understanding of Microsoft Office applications and office equipment
Ability to organize a daily workload by priorities
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license and access to a reliable vehicle is a definite asset
Must be willing to work evenings and weekends
Ability to work as a team player and independently
Self-motivated, flexible, dependable, and innovative
Ability to problem-solve and resolve conflict
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as written, organizational and time management skills
Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Must be willing to work in Montreal Lake 106A and Little Red 106B
Must be willing to sign and abide by the MLCFA Inc. Code of Conduct, including an Oath of Confidentiality
Not to be actively involved with a First Nations Child & Family Agency and/or Department of Social Services as a client receiving Family Services and/or Child Protection Services
Must be willing to submit a current CPIC and Vulnerable Sector Check upon hiring
Must possess a strong commitment to personal wellness
