Spectrum Health Care is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to support our Toronto service region. This position will work out of our Bloor/Yonge office. The HR Generalist is involved in all aspects of the HR department including full cycle recruitment, orientation and onboarding of new hires, training employees about the company vision, mission, policies, and procedures, health and safety and providing support to all field employees. The HR Generalist assists with the administration, coordination, and implementation of human resources programs in accordance with business objectives. This position performs a wide variety of human resources administrative services, ranging from complex to routine all of which contribute to the efficient and professional operation of the branch.   • Full cycle recruitment, including resume and candidate screening, interview scheduling, administering background checks, employment offers, and onboarding
  • Employee relations by interpreting policies and procedures
  • Manages performance-related issues and works with field supervisors to improve employee performance, increase productivity and promote positive employee relations
  • Coordinates and attends all performance-related meetings, takes minutes and in collaboration with the field supervisor, prepares disciplinary letters
  • Attends all field staff employee terminations. In collaboration with Human Resources Manager, prepares termination letters
  • Support the HR department by providing assistance with HR programs, reports, communications, and presentations as required
  • Research and assist in the development and implementation of innovative talent sourcing and selection techniques
  • Organize and maintain filing, online HR folders, and information
  • Organize all administration related to training, including enrolment, materials, and attendance and evaluation tracking


Qualifications
  • Human Resources Management Certificate or post graduate certificate in Human Resources
  • 2 + years Human Resources administrative experience
  • A strong understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR
  • Experience in delivering performance evaluations, conflict resolution, employee motivation, human resources policies and procedures, and HR best practices
  • Working knowledge of Collective Agreements and the management of unionized staff members
  • Excellent judgement, analytical and problem solving skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to build relationships as a trusted partner with internal clients and external vendors
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
