A company with a distinguished culture and work environment is seeking an experienced and motivated Human Resources Assistant to contribute to their influential company culture. **In order to qualify, you must have experience directly managing union grievances**

Your responsibilities in this role

- Oversee office and administrative tasks

- Assist with planning new employee orientation meetings

- Manage employee database archives

- Use the internet to research potential customers

Requirements

- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment and discretion in handling and disseminating information

- At least 2+ years of HR related experience desired

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Accomplished in office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)

- Previous experience working with new employee orientation

- Benefits coordination experience preferred

- Practical knowledge of HR compliance

- Solid understanding of training & development

- Earlier work involving interviewing

- Proficiency in benefits administration

- Experience with career development

- Quality experience with HR Policy

- Skills in performance management

- Experience with policies & procedures

- General familiarity with employee relations

- Proven knowledge of compensation and benefits

- Wide ranging experience with Human Resources (HR) Administration

- Prior experience with surveys

- Union reports experience required

- Comprehension of performance reviews

- Well-founded grasp of contract negotiation

- Good understanding of Onboarding

- Comprehensive knowledge of Union Grievances

- Hands-on experience with sourcing recruitment

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

- Approachable and appropriate behavior when interacting with personnel at all levels in a quickly changing environment
