Job Description


High Tide requires HR professional who will be responsible for providing support to different entities under the umbrella of High Tide Inc. Reporting to Senior Manager, Human Resources, the incumbent will also assist in the implementation of policies, programs and procedures regarding human resources and recruitment, onboarding Investigations, training and development, and payroll and benefits administration, Employee relations, HRIS implementation, Health and Safety, WCB/EHT and Administrative duties include, but are not limited to the filing of correspondences, resumes, receipts and other related records. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of preliminary payroll reports, time sheets and spreadsheets assuring compliance with all applicable federal and provincial regulations and company policies. Work with HR onboarding to expand the HR department.

Job Duties

  • Update systems and maintaining HR records in Ceridian Dayforce, Gusto and ADP
  • Execute day to day HR processing with high degree of data integrity, confidentiality, timeliness.
  • Prepare and process Biweekly Payroll with absolute accuracy and efficiency and provide related to accounting department for month end / year end purposes.
  • Prepare reports to support company-wide policies and initiatives i.e vacation accruals, employee performance, reviews, attendance management.
  • Prepare various letters, including memos confirming transfers, job change letters and reassignments.
  • Coordinate and facilitate orientation sessions including welcome package, lunch invitations, and other on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
  • Have strong knowledge for OHS requirements for warehouse and retail cannabis requirements
  • Work with HR Department members as a team and help create synergies within the HR department and the whole company.
  • Employee Relations, Workplace Investigations and aware of laws in different provinces of Canada
  • Educate the team to use Smartsheet process and protocols so the whole HR team is able to understand the Smartsheet infrastructure.
  • Coordinate the onboarding of new employees. Including the setup of Dayforce.
  • Work as an admin in the LMS platform as and when needed.
  • Utilize various recruitment tools for the network, including collaborative forms, and recruitment processes on Smartsheet
  • Get the Smartsheet license to augment your project mgmt. skills in HR.
  • Partners with business leaders within the organization to support the integration of Smartsheet into their processes and workflows to achieve automation and reduce manual work
  • Assist with the offboarding of employees.
  • Liaison with all departments, to bridge the hr team to the rest of the organization, by supporting all departments on various initiatives.
  • Ensure that the correct approvals are in place for organizational operation. Including onboarding, employee changes, and offboarding.
  • Ensure company resources are current, and up to date.
  • Facilitate all new/existing manager training on Smartsheet, and ATS, and other training as required.
  • Support the recruitment activities of all NSO, ensuring that targets are met. Ensure that background checks, reference checks are in place before hiring.
  • Assist employees with questions regarding policies.
  • Assist fellow HR members on all Smartsheet initiatives, and recruitment processes as required.
  • Support the executive team on Smartsheet initiatives.
  • Investigate employee incidents, always ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Develop Health and Safety programs and coordinate with Managers, Area Managers, District Managers and Operations.
  • Payroll as required and Benefits as required.
  • Implementation as required. (HRIS)
  • Demonstrated ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ensure all team members are set up with correct access within Smartsheet.
  • Support future rollouts of software and resources company wide.
  • Any other projects as required by the organization.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma or certificate in human resources management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of (5-8) years of progressive HR management work experience in a human resources specialist or generalist position preferably in retail or hospitality.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet strategic objectives for HR and the organization.
  • CPHR candidate or CPHR designated preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage HR core processes such as talent management, recruitment and employee relations.
  • Able to make sound business decisions and evidence-based recommendations to senior management.
  • Sound knowledge of employment standards and other applicable legislations across all provinces of Canada.
  • Sound understanding of public company HR process, payroll and benefits
  • Knowledge of Smartsheet an asset.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
  • Sound leadership, staff management, and teambuilding skills.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Able to interpret and implement personnel related legislation.
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of labor laws across all provinces of Canada and be resourceful to find information as and when needed.
