Working Conditions: Hybrid (minimum 2 days week on-site) Purpose: Responsible for executing action items that support initiatives within the facility/business group. Reporting to the HR Manager, the HR Coordinator is responsible for effective execution of human resources functions in areas such as Onboarding, HR and Payroll administration, Associate Relations, Health & Safety, and Labour Relations. Job Responsibilities:HR & Payroll Administration
Maintains and updates employee records and associate files
Submits information to payroll accurately and timely (ex. New Hire Forms, Termination Forms) as part of the onboarding and/or offboarding process for associates.
Responds to all payroll inquiries.
Investigates, researches, and reviews all payroll discrepancies in partnership with Payroll Department.
Submits all payroll forms in a timely manner.
New Hire Onboarding
Organizes, schedules, and hosts new hire orientations (in person / virtual). Provides overview of relevant Company information and history, key policies, procedures. Works cross-functionally with other business units to provide positive onboarding experience for new associates.
Execution of other HR Activities
Executes and delivers on assigned HR functions, accurately and timely.
Supports National HR programs within the facility, in accordance with National HR processes and programs.
Leverages best practices and participates in collaboration with the region/group.
Builds effective working relationships with HR team.
Supports local HR programs in areas such as employee engagement, recognition, training and labour relations.
Possesses working knowledge of HR policies and procedures as well as federal, provincial, and local laws.
Supports with recordkeeping, employee relations, terminations, exit interviews, promotions, etc. in accordance with Company procedures and applicable legal requirements.
Provides transparency into work.
Leverages network for learning when encountering a new challenges. Manages personal development following changes to company/region/facility/group strategy.
Business Strategy
Builds effective working relationships with business leaders.
Leverages understanding of business needs.
Engagement & Associate Relations
Responsible for being an ambassador of the company culture.
Ensures that associate questions are answered promptly and courteously resolved.
Implements associate engagement events and activities, as assigned.
Addresses associate concerns with open communication techniques.
Communicates with associates in a timely and courteous manner. Escalates associate issues to HR Manager.
Performs other job duties as required.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
Post-Secondary Education in HR Management, Business, or related field.
CPHR certification preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years of previous HR experience
Previous experience using ADP Workforce Now preferred
Previous experience working in a distribution/warehouse environment preferred.
Previous experience working with unions preferred.
Knowledge:
Working knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and Local employment laws.
Working knowledge of the BC Employment Standards Act and employee relations practices.
