The next iteration of our integrated approach relates to the planned export of our natural gas to markets in growing economies overseas. To achieve this aim, PCE will supply B.C.\xe2\x80\x99s proposed Woodfibre LNG project, which will liquefy the natural gas and load it into vessels. The natural gas will be shipped to help supply a growing demand for cleaner sources of energy in Asia. THE POSITION If you\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a career experience that will allow you to utilize your existing skillset, develop further experience in and continue to build out all aspects of the Human Capital Management function in a rapidly growing mid-size company, then we have the perfect opportunity for you - PCE is currently searching for a Human Resources Coordinator to join this quickly growing HR team. Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this role will require someone who enjoys the numerical and analytical side of HR, working on very detail-oriented tasks within Payroll & Benefits administration, but who also enjoys variety and can just as easily engage in HR onboarding, culture and engagement activities. Key Responsibilities
  • Accurate calculation, input and processing of semi-monthly payroll, savings plan and associated accounting journal entries, ensuring payment and entries are made within specified timelines
  • Complete various payroll and benefits audits to ensure information is up to date and accurate
  • Understand accounting principles used to process routine payroll and benefits entries
  • Prepare and submit quarterly and annual Worksafe BC and WCB AB reporting
  • Streamline overall business processes for payroll and benefits administration, invoice payments, accounting entries and reconciliations
  • Liaise with PCE\xe2\x80\x99s benefits providers as necessary for administration of benefits programs
  • Serve as the point contact for team members with questions about their benefits, including pro-actively educating the employees through information sharing sessions
  • Administrative support for recruiting \xe2\x80\x93 posting of recruitment ads, booking interviews, managing regrets to candidates
  • Drafting offer letters for permanent and contract employees
  • Maintenance of employees\xe2\x80\x99 paper and online personnel files
  • Working with the Corporate Executive Assistant /Office Manager to complete onboarding steps necessary to ensure office space and equipment is ready for new hires
  • Occasional travel to our field location in the Ft. St. John area may be required.
THE INDIVIDUAL About You
  • Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams across the business
  • Understanding and practice of discretion in all HR matters, preserving employees\xe2\x80\x99 data privacy, and confidentiality is an absolute must
  • At all times diplomacy and confidentiality handling sensitive information must be maintained
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, taking multiple tasks across the finish line simultaneously
  • Impeccable attention to detail, with a steady deliberate approach to data entry
  • Passion for working with numbers, analytical and great problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Qualifications
  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in related field of study or equivalent education and experience.
  • CPHR & PCP (through National Payroll Institute) designations (either have or in process of obtaining)
  • Minimum 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 related experience in an HR role with focus on Payroll, Benefits, Recruitment and overall HR administration
  • Strong skillset in Microsoft Excel
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of HR and/or Payroll systems (previous experience using Ceridian\xe2\x80\x99s PowerPay and/or in implementing Workday would be an asset)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Employment Standards Code (Alberta), Employment Standards Act (BC), privacy legislation, CRA (Payroll statutory deduction requirements & assessment of taxable benefits), Service Canada (ROE issuance), WCB AB and Worksafe BC.
