Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing HR processes, reducing costs, and driving initiatives to attract, retain, and develop top talent. As an HR Advisor with expertise in employee relations, you will implement proactive measures to foster open communication, resolve issues promptly, and promote a culture of trust and collaboration. This may include conducting regular employee feedback sessions, implementing conflict resolution mechanisms, and providing coaching and support to managers in handling employee relations matters.


Emphasis for this role is placed on recruitment, retention and employee relations. Other responsibilities include administration of relevant legislation; collective agreements; terms and conditions of employment and Company policies and procedures; performance management; disability management; labour relations guidance; onboarding and organizational development. This position also contributes to the assessment of existing programs and processes by collecting, tracking and summarizing critical HR metrics, including analyzing trends and providing recommendations for improvements.


As our future HR Advisor, you will:




Manage all day-to-day Human Resources activities (inquiries, disciplinary issues, manager coaching, etc.). Partner with the HR Manager and leadership to align HR strategies with organizational goals, particularly regarding talent acquisition and workforce planning. Lead and support full-cycle recruitment, employee onboarding and retention initiatives. Communicate and provide coaching to our management/supervisor teams. Remain current on and maintain compliance with local employment laws and regulations. Ensure that all internal processes and documents related to Human Resources are adhered to and kept up to date. May be required to travel (up to 20%) to site locations across Vancouver Island and when required supports Global HR Initiatives with other Business Units around the world.

What you Bring:




3 to 5 years of relevant experience coupled with post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or related field (equivalent experience with progressive responsibility may be considered). CPHR designation or working towards is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability in handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism. The ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with employees from all levels of the Company. Excellent problem solving, analytical reasoning skills and judgment. Demonstrated ability to participate as a team member, contributing to the development and enhancement of the team. Strong presentations skills including the ability to interact with members of the public at recruitment/job fairs. High energy, goal-oriented individual who thrives on achieving outcomes through consultative and collaborative methods. Customer service focused and demonstrated ability to achieve continuous improvement. Excellent interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to proactively build and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders. Experience working with collective agreements and unionized environments. Effective decision-making, critical thinking, and problem resolution skills. Knowledge of human resource information software (HRIS/HRMS). Ability to create and nurture a culture of diversity and inclusivity. Active listening and problem-solving skills for employee relations. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.

This is a full-time position based in either Campbell River BC, or Port Hardy, BC with an option for hybrid work. The closing date is June 4, 2025.


Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
