Human Resources Advisor LOCATION: Calgary, AB - 2000, 250 6 Ave SW - Bow Valley Square We are seeking an HR Professional who is looking to advance their career in a leading engineering consulting firm. As a strategic HR Advisor supporting a portfolio of business line managers, you will exert influence, provide decision support, and administer employee transactions in a broad scope of HR functions (Recruitment, HRIS, Administration, Employee Relations, Benefits, etc ). You will provide tactical, administrative and professional day to day HR support and work on various projects aligned with enhancing Human Resources services at Tetra Tech. This is a position based in our Downtown Calgary office (250 6th Ave SW Calgary). You will work independently, based out of our Calgary office, with support from our HR team, located in Vancouver. You are an action-oriented individual who has the maturity to thrive, and think on your feet, enjoy tackling a variety of HR tasks each day and can establish collaborative relationships across your HR portfolio. You are inclusive and innovative and can navigate effectively in an ambiguous and fast paced environment. Responsibilities As an HR Advisor, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Engage with Business: partner with managers on staffing and recruitment, employee life cycle management, workforce and position planning, staff development, compensation, and performance management
  • Provide HR Administrative Support: deliver recruitment life cycle support (develop sourcing and job posting strategies, screen, review applications, phone interviews, conduct references, draft offer letters, and onboard employees), execute employee transactions, provide responses to employee inquiries
  • HR Delivery Excellence: support client groups by advising and coaching managers and employees on an array of topics including policies, procedures, and corporate employee programs
  • HR Program Enhancement: gain a broad exposure to the development, monitoring and improvement of HR policies, practices and programs; contribute to specific HR projects; participate in collaborative HR team initiatives; ensure HR services are aligned to internal client needs; identify new opportunities for HR to add value; and maintain leading-edge knowledge of HR issues

Qualifications You are an early career professional, with approximately 3 to 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Human Resources, and possess the following:
  • Undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, with a specialization in Human Resources, or a Technical diploma in Human Resources, or an equivalent HR related educational program
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently as well as with teams, and demonstrated ability to build effective relationships
  • Experience handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective project management, time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively, think analytically, take initiative, and work successfully with minimal supervision
  • Experience in Engineering, Oil & Gas, or related industry experience considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required and experience using HRIS and ATS in recruitment is an asset
  • Professional designation or working towards a designation in human resources (CPHR) is considered an asset.

Additional Information
  • A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • A technical/practical assessment may be administered during the selection process and this exercise will be used as a part of the selection criteria.
  • Periodical travel within Canada to Regional Tetra Tech offices is required
  • Hybrid Working Arrangement (Working days from the office & work from home)
  • Ability to pass a background check
