Human Resources Administrator
Full Time, One year term with the possibility of extension
Two positions availableIt is the mission of Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI) to broadly provide Inuit-specific programs that contribute to the health and wellbeing of Inuit and to encourage and support similar programs for Inuit across the country. With over 30 years of highly successful experience in crafting the design, development, and delivery of a wide range of effective, client-centered services, TI continues to deliver quality programs and services that directly benefit our growing urban Inuit population.The HR Administrator provides HR-focused and general administrative support to both the Director, Corporate Services, and the Human Resources Advisors at Tungasuvvingat Inuit (TI). In this hands-on role, the successful incumbent will respond to HR requests and provide administrative support in the delivery of HR services, primarily related to recruitment, onboarding, classification, and file management. They will have considerable contact with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and will also provide timely and accurate administrative support, particularly in the maintenance of TI's Human Resources Information System (HRIS).Other key responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Assisting with the recruitment and staffing of positions;
  • Preparing materials for new employee orientation sessions, staff development, and other employee communications;
  • Assisting with group benefits and RRSP plan enrolment;
  • Assisting with the coordination of career and job fairs;
  • Processing employee benefits packages;
  • Generating leave balances reports for staff and management;
  • Preparing and updates organizational charts;
  • Maintaining all physical and electronic HR files and ensures accurate and comprehensive employee records;
  • Providing HR systems support for HR areas, troubleshooting HR systems issues, and collaborating with TI's technology partners;
  • Completing position classification decision notices and file documentation for all new positions, updates, and reclassification requests;
  • Entering and validating pay and benefits data in the HRIS system; and
  • Ensuring compliance with TI's policies and compensation plan for adequate and fair compensation treatment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint, Inuit culture and values, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) and traditional practices.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, written and in-person communication skills, and financial acumen is necessary.The ability to be flexible and meet deadlines, provide professional customer service, format and draft correspondence, forms, and reports, perform accurate mathematical calculations, and work independently and as part of a team is required.A college diploma in Business, Office Administration, HR Management, or a related field of study and three (3) years of experience working in Business Administration is required; experience in HR Administration and HRIS (Ceridian) is preferred. Previous work experience in an Inuit Organization is also preferred. Fluency in English is required and the ability to communicate in Inuktitut is an asset.An acceptable combination of related education, work and life experience may be considered.Salary and Benefits
