  • Recruitment and Selection. Actively engage with the recruitment process by drafting job descriptions, personnel requisitions, and job advertisements. Coordinate pre-screen interviews, assist managers with candidate selection, actively participate in the interview process, recommend hires, and prepare employment offers.
  • HR Administration. Organize and maintain employee database and HR file structures. Manage the HR Department email and process employee absences and requests. Act as a plan administrator for employee benefits programs and inform employees of benefits. Manage Calgary office administration needs.
  • Onboarding and Off-boarding. Process new hire paperwork and ensure all required documents are received. Prepare new hires for assignments by designing and facilitating MBC Group's general orientation sessions. Ensure new hires attend required training sessions. Support the HR Manager with employee off-boarding processes.
  • Operational Processes. Support the HR team and leadership by implementing initiatives that enhance the employee experience. Assist with the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of HR policies, programs, and processes. Monitor and implement federal and provincial HR requirements.
  • Health and Safety. Attend H & S meetings, act as site H&S Representative, conduct workplace safety investigations, and submit site inspection reports.
What you will bring
  • Working towards completion of a Human Resources Certificate or CHRP designation or is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a similar Human Resources role is required.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, Teams, and SharePoint. A working knowledge of Adobe PDF is preferable.
  • Demonstrated competency in the following areas: interpersonal skills, written skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking.
  • Experience in corporate training and development is considered a strong asset.
