We are seeking an experienced and dedicated HR Administrator to manage recruitment, hiring, and administrative operations within our Child Care Facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in human resources, particularly in the child care sector, with experience in hiring and managing staff such as RECEs (Registered Early Childhood Educators), ECAs (Early Childhood Assistants), and overseeing administrative functions. This role will be crucial in ensuring that the facility runs smoothly, complies with regulatory standards, and supports the hiring and onboarding of highly qualified, compassionate staff who are dedicated to the care and education of children.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full recruitment process for RECEs, ECAs, and administrative staff, including posting job ads, reviewing applications, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
Coordinate new employee onboarding, including ensuring all staff complete necessary paperwork, training, and certifications.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, including personal information, training, certifications, and performance reviews.
Administer payroll and benefits for staff, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
Ensure all staffing schedules are organized and that shifts are adequately covered to maintain smooth daily operations.
Utilize Microsoft Excel and Word to manage employee records, create reports, track attendance, and generate other HR-related documentation.
Provide support in staff development, including scheduling training sessions, certifications, and performance evaluations.
Manage employee relations, including addressing concerns, supporting conflict resolution, and promoting a positive workplace culture.
Monitor compliance with provincial and federal regulations regarding child care, including health and safety, staffing ratios, and training requirements.
Assist in the creation and implementation of HR policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices.
Foster a supportive, team-oriented atmosphere by maintaining open communication with staff, parents, and management.
Skills & Qualifications:
Proven experience in HR administration, particularly in the child care or education sector.
Strong understanding of child care regulations, including requirements for RECEs, ECAs, and other child care staff.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for creating and maintaining reports, schedules, and HR-related documentation.
Experience with payroll administration, benefits management, and other HR processes.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with staff, parents, and other stakeholders.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
Knowledge of recruitment processes, from job postings to interviewing and onboarding.
Compassionate and professional, with a genuine interest in supporting staff development and well-being.
Experience in conflict resolution and employee relations.
A background in child care or early childhood education is preferred, but not required.
Knowledge of applicable provincial and federal labor laws and child care regulations.
