About this opportunity

Our client is the third largest reinsurer in the world. Through its 170 locations worldwide, it transacts all lines of Property & Casualty and Life & Health reinsurance.

They are currently seeking applicants for a Senior Technical Financial Accountant who will be responsible for carrying out various aspects of the accounting function such as IFRS reporting and financial management.

Main responsibilities:

  • Prepare all phases of reinsurance accounting and reporting for the L&H portfolio, which includes setting up treaties and completing the quarterly and year-end technical result recording
  • Monitor and clear cash and receivable control accounts and report any accounting discrepancies or unresolved items
  • Calculate and initiate settlements to ensure compliance with various reinsurance agreements, post all related technical bookings accurately in accordance with IFRS and Bermuda statutory requirement
  • Maintain and follow the internal control framework, including documentation requirements and suggest changes to achieve efficiencies where appropriate
  • Managing the process of intercompany reconciliation and reporting as well as the quarterly closing
  • Provide accounting support to the Business Development & Corporate Actuarial Teams
What you\'ll need
  • Professional accounting designation such as CA, CPA or equivalent
  • Possess at least 5 to 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience with accounting and reporting in an international (re)insurance environment
  • Demonstrate knowledge of L&H Financial Solution business and applying the relevant accounting standards (IFRS) accurately is preferred
  • Experience of developing and maintaining successful client relationships
  • Strong computer knowledge including financial based accounting and IT packages such as SAP and Power BI
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure with a great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
