About this opportunity

Our client, a Nasdaq listed global (re) insurance group which acquires and manages insurance and reinsurance business in run-off is seeking a Financial Accountant. This role primarily supports the SEC Reporting Manager in the preparation of quarterly and annual SEC filings.

Key responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports, including, but not limited to, the Form 10-K, Form 10-Q\'s, XBRL exhibits, investor financial supplements, press releases, and investor presentations
  • Assisting with the preparation of quarterly disclosure committee and audit committee materials
  • Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly disclosure checklist and implementation of new accounting and reporting guidance
  • Assisting with the preparation of annual BMA filings, including the Financial Condition Report
  • Assisting with peer review analysis
  • Assisting with other assigned projects as needed
  • Liaising with other business units and external auditors on deliverables
  • Maintaining good internal control procedures to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • Acting as the Information Produced by Entity \xe2\x80\x9cIPE\xe2\x80\x9d Champion for Group Finance
  • Understanding and complying with the company\'s Code of Conduct
  • Take all reasonable steps to ensure the part of the business for which you are accountable for demonstrably complies with applicable laws, rules, regulations, good governance and company\'s shared values, including putting clients at the heart of our business
  • If shortcomings are identified, take responsibility for remedial action planning and action in conjunction with the relevant experts within the firm
  • In addition to the above key responsibilities, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as the Company may reasonably require
What you\'ll need
  • A professional accountancy qualification such as ACA.CA, CPA or ACCA
  • Current knowledge and practical experience of USGAAP and SEC reporting relating to the insurance/reinsurance industry is required
  • Excellent analytical and accounting skills together with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Minimum of 2-4 years post qualification experience with a Big Four auditing firm, focusing on US GAAP and SEC registrants, or similar insurance industry experience required
  • Experience with researching and documenting technical accounting matters would be an asset
  • Experience with Workiva\'s Wdesk platform would be an asset
  • Proficiency in written and/or spoken English language
