The Role



We're looking for someone with on-the-ground operational experience who understands the fast pace and unpredictability of seasonal industries like snow removal, landscaping, construction, or logistics. We're also looking for a hands-on HR Manager - Training & Performance who thrives in fast-paced, non-corporate environments and is excited to take on a pivotal role in shaping our people strategies. Reporting to leadership, you'll be responsible for strengthening our hiring, training, performance, and employee engagement processes while building strategies that improve retention, culture, and succession planning. You'll be the architect of our HR systems -- developing scalable, people-focused practices to support hiring, training, performance, and long-term growth. This is a newly created position where your ideas and actions will directly impact our company's effectiveness, morale, and ability to scale.

Key Responsibilities



Hiring, Training & Onboarding



Own and improve the end-to-end hiring process across seasonal and full-time roles. Build and implement a comprehensive training and onboarding program (incl. safety, process, site maps, company values). Support operations in delivering job-specific technical training.

Performance & People Management



Develop and roll out clear performance management systems and employee development plans. Coach leaders and supervisors on effective feedback and evaluation techniques. Establish and track annual HR goals aligned with company strategy.

Culture, Engagement & Retention



Design and lead initiatives to improve employee morale, motivation, and retention. Strategize around succession planning and long-term talent development. Build a consistent and documented HR infrastructure using BrightHR (support adoption, usage, and policy integration). You'll also lead adoption of BrightHR, our HR software, to digitize documentation, track performance, and improve operational efficiency.

What You Bring



5+ years of progressive HR experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or management role. Background in operations or field-based industries such as landscaping, construction, snow removal, or logistics. Proven ability to design and deliver training, onboarding, and performance management programs. Technically savvy with HR systems (BrightHR experience is a plus), and strong organizational and communication skills. Professional, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving, non-corporate environment.
