We are currently looking to add an ambitious and aspiring human resource professional to our administrative team in the full-time continuing capacity of Human Resources Manager.

Job Responsibilities and expectations will include but will be not limited to the following:

  • Advise managers and employees on the interpretation of Alberta employment standards, human resources policies, compensation, and benefit programs.
  • Research current health and safety practices and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies.
  • Implement and maintain the dealership HRIS and administer/promote it's usage amongst management and employees
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention programs in order to attract potential employees and retain current employees.
  • Ensure Group compliance with federal and provincial employment legislation.
  • Consult with management on discipline/management of staff and discuss ongoing compliance with employment standards legislation.
  • Perform compensation audits utilizing industry and regional data and recommend adjustments to staff compensation to senior management
  • Assist the managers in facilitating onboarding of new employees and complete the off boarding of departing employees with IT and admin.
  • Work with management and the safety committee to implement Occupational Health and Safety Systems that ensure OH&S compliance.
  • Assist management with performing and documenting ongoing performance reviews for staff
  • Act as claim administrator for the dealership in regards to WCB and disability applications
  • Coordinate employee-related events such as luncheons, awards ceremonies, BBQs and Christmas parties.
  • Miscellaneous administrative, personnel, accounting/bookkeeping and maintenance related duties as needed
Education/Skill Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or a Human Resource Management University Certificate/Diploma is required
  • 1 to 5 years of relevant work experience is an asset but not necessarily required
  • CPHR designation/candidacy would be considered an asset
  • Previous supervisory/customer service work experience where exceptional attention to detail was required is strongly preferred.
  • Valid Minimum Class 5 Driver's License is required
  • Fluent written and verbal English language abilities is essential
  • Previous experience in the automotive industry would be considered an asset
  • Previous experience utilizing HRIS or DMS software would be an asset
  • Intermediate Computer Application skills are required (Microsoft office including, word, outlook, and excel)

Direct Compensation Structure and Work Schedule:
  • Wages will consist of a competitive annual salary paid out semi-monthly. Staring wages will be commensurate with the successful candidates human resources work experience and level of relevant post-secondary education.
  • Average work week will be 40 hours per week with shifts being typically 8 hours in duration with a 30 minute unpaid lunch from 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility on shift start and end times.
