HR Manager
Elie, Manitoba

AgWest is looking for an experienced and dedicated HR Manager to join their team. As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR management including recruiting, health and safety, policy development, labour relations, attendance and performance management, employee grievances resolution, benefits administration, vacation management, workers\' compensation claims, and payroll management.

This position requires strong interpersonal skills, a comprehensive understanding of HR practices, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

As the HR Manager you will:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for HR-related matters for all branches of the organization.
  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including collaborating with hiring managers,
  • job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers.
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment by developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures and providing training to employees.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and provide guidance and support to managers on HR best practices.
  • Maintain knowledge of labour relations, collective bargaining agreements, and employment standards, and participate in negotiations and grievance procedures.
  • Oversee attendance tracking, performance management, and disciplinary procedures.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution as needed and promote a positive work environment.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including retirement plans, vacation management, and other employee perks.
  • Collaborate with benefits providers and negotiate competitive packages.
  • Manage workers\' compensation claims, including filing and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll; including wage calculations, factoring in hourly technicians, deductions, and overtime payments.
You and Your Experience:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, or related education.
  • Proven experience as an HR Manager or HR Generalist in a similar-sized organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with developing and implanting HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of recruitment techniques and experience in full-cycle recruiting.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle labour relations and employee grievances effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, demanding deadline driven environment.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll software, and MS Office Suite.
