We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to join our reputable client in the construction industry located in Richmond, BC. As the HR Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day HR function, developing HR processes and procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of all HR activities. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive various HR processes and procedures, ensuring their effective implementation.
  • Conduct full cycle recruitment, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, phone screening, conducting interviews, checking references, and providing guidance during the hiring decision-making process.
  • Promote our company as an attractive place of employment through networking, engaging with candidates and external recruiters, and maintaining relationships with post-secondary institutions and industry associations.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive onboarding program to provide a warm welcome to new hires and ensure their successful integration into the company.
  • Coordinate staff training and development initiatives, ensuring employees and managers have the support they need for career growth and performance management.
  • Support and foster our company culture, organizing team-building activities, social events, and volunteering programs.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives, such as employee surveys, to maintain an excellent working environment.
  • Provide advice and support to employees and managers regarding career development, performance management, and personnel policies.
  • Ensure the Employee Handbook reflects our brand and culture, updating and revising it as needed.
  • Maintain accurate job descriptions and oversee the employee life cycle, including employment-related correspondence and records within our HRIS System (BambooHR).
  • Conduct research and collect compensation data to support annual compensation review decisions.
  • Oversee employee benefits to ensure employees receive competitive and comprehensive packages.
Requirements

Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Business/HR Management.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist and/or HR Business Partner/Manager, ideally in a relevant industry.
  • Proven ability to coach managers through people issues.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal clients and peers.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in compensation administration, which includes annual reviews, salary surveys, and overall compensation structures.
  • Proven experience in recruiting at all levels.
  • Previous experience with HR systems (i.e., ATS, HRIS, leave management, etc.). BambooHR knowledge is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge in staff fulfillment, performance review methods, staff interactions, mentoring and coaching, and BC labour law legislation.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present and prepare reports, proposals, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent computer skills, including the ability to operate software applications such as MS Office and Google Docs.
  • Excellent representative of the values and culture of the company.
  • Professional demeanor and good problem-solving skills combined with a strong business awareness and customer orientation.
  • Sense of humor.
