IntroductionFlexserv is a leading provider of a full range of internal accounting and HR services to small and medium size enterprises - organizations that typically range in size from 5-70 employees and we're looking for a Part-Time Human Resources Director (2-3 days/week) with at least 10 years experience to work for us. The number of hours may vary and some will be expected to be completed during normal business hours.About UsOur customers look to us to fully manage their bookkeeping, accounting and human resources. This frees up our client's executive and staff to focus on their core strategic activities such as sales and delivery, while we manage their corporate services. Our staff work in a matrixed environment, working on one or more clients, depending on the workload generated by each of our clients. You may be teamed with certain Flexserv specialists for one client and other Flexserv specialists for another client. Ultimately, our clients see you and the rest of our team as an integral part of their company on a long term basis. There is the opportunity to combine onsite work and telecommuting, depending on the client assignment. Please note that we are not a recruiting agency but we seek ongoing, long-term operational relationships with our clients.The RoleYou are the HR point person for one or more clients. With your broad based knowledge in HR, you will be able to deliver and guide senior management on a wide variety of HR topics including:

  • Organizational and succession planning
  • Recruit, and manage the recruiting process, and coordinate on-boarding of new staff
  • Manage, maintain and update workforce personnel data
  • Develop and manage the performance management process. You will work with client staff to set annual objectives, coordinate the appraisal process and deal with HR issues as they arise, including performance improvement and disciplinary actions
  • Manage, coordinate and deliver development and training
  • Manage, deliver and administer the compensation and benefits function
  • Develop and implement HR policy
  • Coach client executive and management, as requested
  • Manage, deliver and administer employee safety, welfare, wellness and health
  • Maintain knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements, and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions. Ensure company compliance
  • Manage employee communications
  • Manage employee relations
  • Assist in the selection, implementation and operation of a Human Resource Information System
Qualifications and Skills
  • University degree. Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or equivalent is an asset
  • Competence and experience in the duties and responsibilities described above
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of related HR experience
  • Experience in supporting small to medium sized businesses
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, counselling, facilitation and conflict resolution skills
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel
  • Self-starter, team player, organized, able to meet deadlines
  • Possess initiative, creativity, integrity and a strong work ethic
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible
  • Professional, self-confident and able to work independently
  • Possess a positive, can-do attitude
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, fluent in English
  • Good references
  • Achievement of, or working towards, CHRL designation would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Ontario legislation an asset
