Summary Reporting to the Center Director the Early Learning Educators are responsible for the primary supervision and teaching of the children in their classroom. They\xe2\x80\x99re charged with caring for the children and ensuring they are given a safe, happy, and educational environment. We are looking for Educators who are ready to lead and set up a classroom as we are a brand-new centre. Educators will be given the tools and support to set up classrooms but are expected to come with experience and tools of their own which can be implemented. Early Learning Educator Duties and Responsibilities Curriculum & Developmental Practices \xc2\xb7 Maintains high quality childcare standards based on developmentally appropriate practices. Above all is a believer that the role of the educator is to provide tools to enable children to be successful and thrive by meeting group expectations. \xc2\xb7 Responsible for the programming and educational curriculum offered in the classroom using the following programs: Singapore Math, Learning without Tears for Reading/Writing & Literacy, Social Thinking. \xc2\xb7 Incorporating mindfulness, regulation and yoga practices into daily routines. \xc2\xb7 This programming must be aligned with the Alberta Early Learning Curriculum Framework, FLIGHT. \xc2\xb7 Works closely with the Director and other staff to create programs and learning plans that meet expectations of the parents and the owners. \xc2\xb7 Completes monthly reports and participates in support meetings for the classroom. Administration/Centre Operation \xc2\xb7 Maintains documentation to support the licensed status: attendance, medication, diapering & meals, etc. The program will be maintaining records using a digital platform. \xc2\xb7 Complies with policies and procedures for the operation of the childcare center. \xc2\xb7 Keeps inventory of & requests classroom supplies as needed. Dealings with Parents \xc2\xb7 Directs Parent/Teacher meetings. \xc2\xb7 Writes documentation and observations informing parents of classroom events, and children\xe2\x80\x99s development. \xc2\xb7 Maintains open, consistent, and effective communication with parents, providing parent assistance and support as needed. \xc2\xb7 Provides reliable, accurate and timely information about the childcare center to interested parties. \xc2\xb7 Gives tours to prospective families. \xc2\xb7 Ensures all new parents and children are orientated into the Centre upon enrolment What to Expect from us: \xc2\xb7 annual performance evaluations for all childcare staff. \xc2\xb7 staff training prior to beginning at the program. \xc2\xb7 early shift. \xc2\xb7 coaching and feedback from the Director. \xc2\xb7 Information and opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills (first aid, fire safety, food safety course, required courses for higher levels or training). \xc2\xb7 Staff meetings to ensure open communication channels. \xc2\xb7 Positive work environment for staff/children \xe2\x80\x93 supportive attitude towards staff & children without labelling. Early Learning Educator Skills and Qualifications The Early Learning Educator needs to have a passion for working with children as well as strong leadership skills. \xc2\xb7 Level 1, 2 or 3 Certificate, Early Learning and Childcare Diploma. \xc2\xb7 Valid First Aid certificate and Police Clearance with vulnerable sector search. \xc2\xb7 Must possess exceptional interpersonal skills with children and adults alike. \xc2\xb7 Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communications skills to communicate with parents, staff, and children. \xc2\xb7 Must have strong leadership skills to be able to lead a classroom of children. \xc2\xb7 A model of best practices in child-rearing, including discipline, encouragement, and communication. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge in child development, and parent-child relationships. \xc2\xb7 Must have an appropriate code of ethics for working with young children. \xc2\xb7 Must be flexible and able to react appropriately to changing circumstances. \xc2\xb7 Must be professional and provide a public face for the childcare facility. \xc2\xb7 Looking for at least one Spanish speaking teacher.
