Position Summary:



Assists the Human Resources department andthe Corporate HR Leader, TFW Program Specialistby overseeing the housing, monthly inspections, lease renewals & acquiring leases, transportation companies and communication with building manager for the Temporary Foreign Work Program in British Columbia and assists with other HR related functions as assigned.

Duties & Responsibilities

:

1. Leadership & Code of Conduct

2. Safety



Adhere to Safety Policies, including use of proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment Report unsafe conditions immediately to Direct report or member of the Safety team Report all incidents, injuries or near misses immediately to Direct report or Safety Advocate Cooperate in the Early & Safe Return to Work Program if an injury or medical illness requires accommodation

3. Oversight of Housing and Transportation for Temporary Foreign Worker Program



Ensuring set up of housing in accordance with government requirements for the Program Investigation and proposals for new cost-effective housing (i.e. camp style) Working with purchasing to find the most cost-effective way to purchase housing supplies, ensure pest control, repairs, etc. Investigation and recommendations for cost effective methods of transportation for TFWs Monthly TFW housing inspections and documented reports. Works with the HR to communicate housing policies and responsibilities of TFWs to the TFWs in housing before and after an inspection and periodically. Acts as the communication agent between housing & transportation companies and Highline. Keeps track of monthly transportation cost Reviews reports from the Health Unit and Wali 8-month housing inspections and sends findings to the Human Resources Department and any other department that requires the inspection. Carry out the annual fire systems inspections (emergency light, smoke alarm, fire extinguishers etc). and confirm the report with QA for payment. Investigates and follows up on housing issues, concerns, and complaints from the TFWs to the landlords and Building Managers Coordinates with Building Manager/Maintenance for repairs needed. Completes purchase orders for; housing, inspection, transportation, utilities, facility maintenance, hotel accommodations and supplies related to the TFWP. Sets up the housing for new incoming TFWs, which can include but is not limited to; ordering furniture, housing supplies, creating keys. Meets new TFWs at the airport/housing when they arrive in Canada. Delivers Housing Orientation for new TFWs. Coordinates and accompanies new TFW for; SIN appointments, health card appointments, purchasing safety shoes, initial bank account set up appointments and initial grocery runs. Coordinates with cleaning company when associates move out.

4. Other Duties



Assists with other duties as assigned As reasonably requested in the aid of operations or culture compliance, performs other duties as may be assigned Help with special events as requested

Qualifications:



1. Education & Past Experiences:



Professional experiences or equivalent combined education, designation and work experience will be considered;

Post Secondary education in human resources, accounting or, business administration is preferred Advanced training and skills in Microsoft Office, and an HRIS systems is an asset
Professional Knowledge & Skills:

Must be knowledgeable of employment, human rights, and health and safety legislation Proven ability to demonstrate close attention to detail

Eligible to work in Canada. Fluent in written and verbal English, other languages such as Spanish are an asset.
