As the Housing & Leasing Coordinator, you will oversee day-to-day operations of off-campus student housing, including leasing, tenant relations, maintenance coordination, finance, and staff management. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Leasing, Sales & Marketing:
Lead lease signing process and tenant communications
Implement sales strategies and marketing campaigns to drive occupancy
Update and execute a property-specific marketing plan
Develop and track promotional initiatives to attract prospective tenants
Finance & Administration:
Monitor and control operational expenses and revenue
Oversee rent collections and account receivables
Submit monthly and ad hoc reporting accurately and on time
Maintain organized office documentation and policy updates
Tenant Relations:
Ensure tenant satisfaction, safety, and compliance with lease terms
Collect and manage all required tenant documentation
Address tenant concerns and complaints promptly and professionally
Maintenance & Facilities:
Conduct regular property inspections to identify repairs and improvements
Manage vendor relations and approve work orders
Monitor maintenance budgets and service standards
Staff Management & Human Resources:
Supervise on-site staff and maintain strong internal communication
Enforce company and legislative policies, including Health & Safety
Support team development and ensure adequate training
Property Standards:
Ensure the property maintains a clean, well-kept appearance both inside and out
Oversee landscaping, snow removal, and common area upkeep
Respond quickly to documentation and information requests
Health & Safety:
Enforce Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
Ensure availability and use of required PPE and WHMIS documentation
Maintain up-to-date safety records and compliance measures for all tasks
Qualifications
Education:
College diploma or university degree required
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in leasing, housing operations, or property administration
Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication
Proven ability to lead and motivate a team
Effective multitasking and time management
Knowledge of Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) and lease negotiations
Creative problem-solving under pressure
Primarily indoor, high interaction, moderate stress
Travel:
Minimal
