Your Role as a Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant:

As a Housekeeping and Laundry Assistant, you'll be an integral part of our community, ensuring that residents have a clean, sanitary, and inviting environment to call home. Your role goes beyond just cleaning and laundry; you'll contribute to creating a warm and supportive atmosphere where residents feel valued and cared for.

What You'll Be Doing:

Perform basic housekeeping duties including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning windows, scouring bathrooms, changing sheets and towels, and managing laundry. Tidy suites and common areas. Clean, disinfect, and store all cleaning equipment at the end of the shift. Clean and re-stock the washrooms. Clean any spills with appropriate chemicals. Collect and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner. Properly clean upholstered furniture in common areas. Monitor and report all necessary domestic repairs and replacements. Pick up dirty linen from floors. Wash linens separately using correct chemicals. Fold laundry. Re-stock linen cart for the following day. Monitor all linen for any damage or color fades. Understand the policies of Eden Care Communities with respect to Shift Availability, Privacy, and Respectful Workplace.

What You Need:

Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent. A genuine passion for serving others and making a positive impact. Flexibility, creativity, and a can-do attitude. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Capable of lifting objects weighing at least 25 pounds. Proficient in pushing and maneuvering a cart weighing 40-50 pounds. Able to reach, kneel, and bend as necessary for the job.

Extra Skills We Admire:

Previous experience in housekeeping or laundry services. Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods. Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment. Good organizational, interpersonal, and attention to detail skills.
