Located on the brink of one of the world's greatest natural wonders, the Marriott on the Falls is a 404-guestroom full-service hotel, minutes away from area attractions, world-class wineries, golf and casinos. The Marriott on the Falls also offers sumptuous dining options at its on-site Milestones Fallsview Restaurant along with 23 private function rooms and boardrooms totaling over 40,000 square feet of meeting space including our 8400 sq. ft. Oakes Grand Ballroom with an additional 2700 sq. ft. foyer. We are currently searching for a

Director of Housekeeping and Laundry

who has a passion for service with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills to lead our multicultural housekeeping team. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Overseeing the day to day operations of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department. Hiring, interviewing training, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, disciplining, and motivating employees. Preparing the weekly Associate schedules within the budgeted guidelines. Ensure guest accommodations and all areas front and back of house are maintained in accordance to Marriott standards at all times. Developing and coaching/counseling a diverse team of housekeeping Associates, including Supervisors. Ensures effective monitoring of Room Attendant's daily progress in collaboration with the Housekeeping management team to assure that all standards have been met. Ensures guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner. Works effectively with the Engineering department on guest room maintenance needs. Manages effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space. Reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems and concerns. Manages linen inventory, guest supplies, uniforms and assists in the ordering of supplies as necessary. Ordering and managing inventory and uniforms. Ensuring that the yearly special cleaning projects are completed. Ensuring safety procedures and proper use of chemicals and cleaning supplies are adhered to by providing training to the housekeeping associates and ensuring that labeling of hazardous supplies. Handles guest problems and complaints seeking assistance from supervisor as required. Performing all other job duties as directed or assigned.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:



Job Requirements:



Must have at least 5 years leadership experience in a similar capacity, preferably with a world renowned full service brand hotel. Strong Managerial Leadership skills, including conflict resolution, coaching, development, and fosters a work environment suitable for learning and growth within the department. Demonstrates strong understanding of budgets, financial statements and payroll process. Approachable: Establishes immediately creditability with guests and associates - leads all associates by example. Outstanding attention to detail - both personal grooming/appearance and in properly ensuring that Marriott housekeeping cleanliness standards are maintained at all times. Demonstrated commitment and passion to maximizing guest service satisfaction in each stage of the guest experience, particularly as they pertain to exceptional standards of cleanliness and order. Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem solving skills. Experience in managing in-house operated laundry operation. Proven experience of monitoring quality standards and identifying and dealing with any performance issues. Knowledge of Health and Safety relevant to the role. Good written and spoken English skills and computer proficiency with MS Excel and Word is mandatory in this role. Must be able to work a flexible schedule - i.e. able to work morning/afternoon shifts, weekends, and holidays. University/College degree in a related discipline an asset.
