The Wolfville Nursing Home is a privately owned, Accredited Long Term Care Facility in the town of Wolfville in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley. We provide quality care to 66 residents.

Wolfville Nursing Homes Limited is currently recruiting for the following position:

Casual / Part Time House Keeping/Laundry Aide

Cleaning residents' rooms, outside surface of bedside tables and bureaus, light shades, mirrors, windows and window ledges, baseboards, pictures, walls and chairs.

Collecting garbage.

Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors.

Complete cleaning of bathroom: sinks, toilets, mirrors, walls, floors and replenishing paper products.

Complete cleaning of corridors.

Knowing the proper cleaning materials for windows, floors, bathroom facilities.

Knowledge of WHMIS and the workplace Safety Data Sheets

Reporting to maintenance when equipment is not working properly.

Proper care of all equipment.

Stocking cleaning carts.

Washing /drying /folding and delivery of facility linens

Sorting soiled laundry.

Loading & unloading of washer/dryers.

Folding personals and linens.

Stocking carts and delivery of clean facility laundry to units.

Minimum Grade 10 completion, no formal education required but must be able to read and write. Able to follow oral, written and electronic instructions. Ability to perform routine tasks. Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and residents.

Physical demands: Standing, squatting, bending, twisting, lifting (wet linens, moving furniture etc.) and walking short distances at a time throughout the day.

Previous experience in similar roles is an asset.

Wage beginnning at $16.00/hr
