KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:




Reporting to the Programs Manager, and under the direct supervision of the Funding Supervisor, Homelessness, the Homelessness Resource Coordinator supports the Supervisor in the administration and coordination of the City's homelessness initiatives in support of the tackling of homelessness to ensure that the goals and objectives are aligned with the City's strategic objectives.


Some of the tasks performed by the Homelessness Resource Coordinator include:

assists with carrying out community engagement; assists with ongoing reporting and updates on the coordinated homelessness; coordinates, maintains, and executes the database management for the HIFIS program; collaborates with HIFIS data management NGO leads to ensure data collection and outcomes are accurately captured; supports the Funding Supervisor, Homelessness in projects and initiatives; and coordinates bi-annual point-in-time homelessness counts and related capacity building projects.

QUALIFICATIONS:




A post-secondary diploma in community development, public administration, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 2 years' experience working in administration, program administration, or a related field. In addition, the incumbent must have a valid class 5 drivers' license.


This position requires a strong working knowledge of database management systems, as well as proficiency in MS Office Suite. Strong organizational, analytical, attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required for this role. The incumbent must have the ability to establish and maintain rapport with stakeholders and partners, as well as a strong knowledge of homelessness factors and resources including community outreach. The position requires experience interacting and connecting with people of various social, cultural, and economic backgrounds.

SALARY:




The City of Yellowknife offers a starting annual salary of $77,391, as well as a comprehensive benefit package including a monthly housing and vacation travel allowance totaling $450 a month, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
