As a Heritage Planning student with City and Regional Planning, you will build lasting relationships with industry leaders, and contribute to work that will build and strengthen your skill sets. Primary duties include:


  • Work closely with the heritage planning team and Heritage Calgary to assist in the delivery of a wide range of heritage related initiatives such as the Heritage Strategy review and update, Heritage Planning Tools and Incentives work as well as supporting the evaluations and designations of heritage properties.

  • Identify and track issues related to the heritage planning work program.

  • Undertake engagement and communications with internal and external partners.

  • Use best practices research on heritage topics including architectural styles unique to the Calgary context.





Qualifications

  • Enrolled in a diploma or degree program for Urban Planning, Urban Studies, Geography, Heritage Conservation, or Architecture.

  • A basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

  • Experience with Livelink or POSSE would be considered an asset.

  • A strong interest in heritage/heritage conservation and architectural history would be considered as asset.

  • Success in this position requires strong research and problem-solving skills with a high degree of customer focus, strong communication and organizing skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate initiative and work well both independently and as part of a team.

Pre-Employment Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in school on a full-time basis with the intent to return to school full-time in the Fall of 2023.

  • If invited to an interview, you will be asked to provide an unofficial transcript or an enrollment verification letter (indicating the program and year you are currently completing).

Compensation: $26.63 per hour

Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.




Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
