Maibec CanExel, a division of Maibec Inc. (headquartered in Quebec), is a recognized leader in prefinished siding, offering over 55 years of experience in producing durable and beautiful exterior siding. Our East River facility, just outside of Hubbards, Nova Scotia, is home to approximately 165 dedicated employees.

Location : Conveniently located 1 minute off Exit 7 from Highway 103, Maibec CanExel is an easy 30-minute commute from both Bayers Lake and Bridgewater.

Pay : We offer a competitive wage of $37.83/hr

Key Responsibilities :

• Performing preventive/predictive maintenance and repairs of equipment including log loaders, loaders, forklifts, trucks, trailers, etc.
• Diagnosing the cause of equipment faults or malfunctions. Using testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required and effecting required repairs.
• Cleaning, greasing, and conducting routine services on company equipment
• Maintaining a daily record of all work tasks and materials
• Completing daily job hazard assessments
• Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management
• Maintaining a clean and tidy personal work area
• Supporting and encouraging continuous improvement in work practices
• Performing other related work duties as required
• Willing to work overtime & able to work in accordance with plant safety rules & Regulations

Qualifications :

• Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certification
• Must have basic tools & secure additional tools according to work demand
• Must be in good physical condition: able to climb, crawl and work in confined areas
• Must have a good safety record
• Must be willing to take training courses for trade upgrading
• A Nova Scotia G -5 Gas Operator License would be an asset
