Prime Movers has a Health & Safety Manager position opening at our Calgary branch.

Prime Movers is looking for individuals that are reliable, punctual, take pride in their work and are willing to lead by example and grow in the industrial moving industry. The candidate should be familiar with some of the areas below:

Machinery Moving, Demolition, Forklift Operation, Jack & Roll, Rigging & Material Handling, Crane Operation, Transportation Class 1 or 3, Operation and Gantries

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Health & Safety Manager. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating compliance with health and safety requirements as defined by company standards, governmental regulation, and contractual obligations.

Duties:

-Responsible for managing and driving all initiatives aimed at providing a safe work environment

-Conduct orientation meetings with new workers and sub-contractors

-Review project related safety documentation and certifications

-Maintain files for programs, registration, training and other important records (criminal record checks, etc)

-Maintain and monitor safety documentation. Ensure all documentation is properly completed, organized and uploaded to company safety portal

-Inspect PPE and ensure proper PPE procedure is followed; order safety inventory as needed

-Conduct weekly toolbox talks and quarterly safety meetings; ensuring proper documentation

-Actively participate and lead the Joint Health & Safety Committee meetings

-Routine job site inspections, shop/office inspections, equipment inspections

-Facilitate any changes/requirements needed to meet legislation standards

-Maintain contractor compliance platforms (ISN, Avetta, ComplyWorks, Appruv, etc.)

-Follow up on any corrective measures

-Maintain files for incident/injury records

-Oversee and participate in incident/injury investigation and reviews

-Support modified duty programs; provide any reports/info to WCB

-Maintain and expand current knowledge of industry trends and practices regarding health and safety

-Conduct health & safety courses and program evaluation.

-Complete train the trainer courses

Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years health & safety experience Valid driver's license Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong computer skills Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
