Introduction Snowline Gold is a Yukon-based mineral exploration company focused on developing our greenfield, district-scale gold system in the north-east Yukon. We are building a new kind of exploration company by setting new standards in social and environmental responsibility, and we need someone to ensure the safety of our people and operations at our remote project during the 2023 summer season.
Details You will be the primary person responsible for the health and safety of our team at our 50-person camp and exploration operations. Reporting to the Operations Manager, your role will be to develop and implement Snowline\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety Program. This will include ensuring compliance with, and continuous improvement of our H&S Program, ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant legislation, implementing effective training programs, on-site evaluation and improvement of our practices. The role will also include primary first aid attendant responsibilities in camp which requires OFA 3 or equivalent certification. Snowline is prepared to consider training support if required to meet that certification. Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Snowline\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety Program.
Ensure that Snowline\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety program conforms to all legislative requirements and permit requirements
Plan and conduct regular safety inspections of crews and worksites
Develop and improve on Safe Work Practices
Fulfill the duties of the on-site first aid attendant (OFA 3 or equivalent)
Chair the Health and Safety Committee
Lead and participate in incident and accident reporting
Maintain health and safety records
Manage reporting of H&S incidents for permitting and government requirements
Lead orientation of new employees through Snowline\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety Program
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum five years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the mineral exploration industry
Demonstrated experience as an effective member of an inter-disciplinary team
Thorough understanding of relevant health and safety regulation
Highly proficient English reading, writing, and verbal skills

Starting in late April, 40 hour week in the lead up to the field season
Early June through to late September; Rotational: 4 weeks on, 2 weeks off working at our remote north-east Yukon field camp
