REPORTS TO: Corporate Director – Health, Safety & Environment
JOB STRUCTURE: Potential for hybrid work model (2 days remote work/week) after completing probationary period

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Corporate Health & Safety Platform Manager, you will be primarily responsible for the overall management, performance, and effectiveness of Colas Canada’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Management Platform. This role will also provide corporate support for national initiatives including training, communications, policies, and best practices.

You will work closely with Colas Canada’s subsidiary HSE teams and provide ongoing support and training on the platform. You will establish key performance metrics to monitor the platform's effectiveness and provide reports and recommendations for improvement.
As a Platform Manager, you will succeed in establishing and maintaining strong communication avenues with all Colas Canada subsidiaries, stakeholders and external clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Manages the HSE Management Platform in coordination with the Corporate Director - HSE
  • Ensures consistency in the delivery and application of the platform across the business and assist in the planning, prioritization, and development of internal training programs and initiatives
  • Ensures that training programs and initiatives are consistent with the business’s overall strategies, objectives, and needs
  • Organizes, and schedules meetings and training sessions with the HSE platform provider, ensuring proper support at all levels of the platform
  • Acts as the lead support and administrator for the HSE Management Platform and provides assistance to the subsidiaries
  • Interacts heavily with leadership to develop and maintain HSE metrics and analytics to support the various operational initiatives.
  • Works closely with the Corporate Director - HSE to ensure that the platform is effectively managed and supported
  • Conducts training sessions online and in-person at Colas Canada’s subsidiary locations on the use, delivery, and management of the HSE Platform
  • Provide regular reports and updates on the platform implementation, progress, and performance
  • From time to time, this function will be responsible for other projects or deliverables as assigned by the Corporate Director - HSE

WHAT YOU BRING



  • University degree in Health & Safety, Human Resources, Project Management, or similar field
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in an HSE, HR, or IT platform management role
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification considered as asset
  • A strong background in HSE program development and analytics
  • Experience in training, adult learning, and ability to present to large groups
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite of products, Excel, Power Point, etc.
  • Proven track record of expertly coordinating and managing HSE or HR operations and overseeing comprehensive project lifecycle management activities
  • Preferable experience and knowledge in the use of HSE or HRIS enterprise software systems such as Cority; or similar systems
  • Exceptional written & verbal communication skills, bilingualism an asset
  • Ability to frequently travel within Canada
