HEALTH & SAFETY / QUALITY MANAGER - Calgary, AB (Relocation Available)
$90K-100K base PLUS $40K++ bonus potential, comprehensive benefits, Pension Plan + perks

Our client is one of the largest metals companies in North America with operations across Canada.

Health & Safety / Quality Manager will lead and manage the Occupational Health & Safety program for the Alberta branches building trust and confidence in stakeholders, ensure consistency in policies and procedures for health, safety, and quality functions.
Responsibilities:

  • Communicate, implement & ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and corporate health & safety policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Establish annual targets to reduce incidents, risk, and non-conformances and measure performance against established targets.
  • Update and recommend Health & Safety rules, procedures, policies, and manuals.
  • Manage and maintain COR certification; perform internal audits to evaluate compliance.
  • Ensure facility and equipment are maintained at a safe level.
  • Ensure effective WCB claims management process.
  • Ensure annual inspections are carried out on equipment and training needs are met.
  • Represent Company during inspections and external quality audits.
  • Champion post-accident investigations.
  • Ensure maintenance of ISO 9001:2015 certification
  • Ensure quality policies, procedures and practices are maintained, valid, and up-to-date and perform regular quality audits to evaluate level of compliance with Quality Programs.
  • Establish ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
What you bring to the table:
  • 8+ years of experience in H&S Management within a warehouse/manufacturing environment.
  • Post-secondary certificate or diploma in Health, Safety, & Quality or relevant post-secondary training.
  • Certified BCCSA, COR Internal Auditor, CRSP or CHSC designation is an asset.
  • Experience in H&S regulations/issues/committees.
  • Ability to develop and implement training programs.
  • Must be proficient in MS office applications.
  • Working knowledge of measuring equipment, blueprints, and technical information.
  • Ability to lead change management inspiring buy-in within a team.
