Safety Administrator

KLS Earthworks & Environmental is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Safety Administrator to join our team. This full-time, permanent role will be integral in supporting our safety initiatives and ensuring compliance across all levels of our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct safety orientations for new employees, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards
• Manage and maintain safety files for employees, subcontractors, and clients
• Accurately record, report, and follow up on accidents, incidents, and near misses
• Review and verify driver abstracts for compliance
• Serve as a liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders to support safety initiatives
• Ensure all safety-related documentation is up to date and properly filed
Qualifications:
• Health & Safety Administrator (HSA) certification is an asset
• National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certification is an asset
• Alberta Occupational Health & Safety Legislation Awareness (LEG) certification is an asset
• 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry, with a focus on safety
• Previous dispatch experience is considered an asset
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficient in safety management software (DATS experience is an asset)
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional overtime and weekends
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
