This is an opportunity to create exceptional dining experiences across multiple outlets while leading and mentoring a team of culinary professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment.

ROLE OVERVIEW


The London Hunt and Country Club is seeking a Head Restaurant Chef with extensive culinary and leadership experience. This year-round, multi-outlet facility includes a Cafe, upscale casual dining, casual patio, and a fine dining room. The Head Restaurant Chef will be responsible for the overall success of kitchen operations, enhancing member satisfaction through leadership, creativity, and operational excellence.

The Head Restaurant Chef will be responsible for:



Leading and managing the kitchen brigade, inspiring staff, mentoring apprentices, and fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork. Overseeing all aspects of menu development, creating creative, seasonally inspired menus for all outlets that reflect market trends and member preferences. Managing recipe costing, portion control, product yields, food stock levels, and labor costs to optimize budget adherence and team efficiency. Maintaining high standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, hygiene, and safety across all culinary operations. Collaborating with the Food and Beverage Manager to educate front-of-house staff on menus and ensure a seamless dining experience. Recruiting, training, coaching, and developing a strong culinary team, providing timely feedback and succession planning. Interacting with members and guests to gather feedback, address concerns, and enhance overall dining satisfaction. Preparing and updating culinary operations manuals and ensuring compliance with Club policies and procedures. Managing scheduling, delegation of tasks, performance reviews, and maintenance requests to maintain efficient operations. Collaborating with the Director of Clubhouse Operations on financial, operational, and strategic goals for the culinary department.

QUALIFICATIONS:



Have a minimum of 10 years' experience in the culinary field, including at least 5 years in a management role. Hold a culinary diploma from a recognized institution. Possess a Red Seal certification. Strong culinary knowledge with expertise in food preparation and menu development. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to manage, mentor, and inspire kitchen staff. Creative and innovative, with a passion for developing new dishes and enhancing the dining experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, fostering a collaborative and motivated team environment. Fair and firm management abilities, with strong influencing skills and the ability to handle challenges calmly under pressure. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills. Initiative-driven, self-motivated, and committed to continuous professional development. Service-oriented mindset, embodying the Club's Mission, Vision, and Values, while consistently delivering a polished and professional approach.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

We offer a competitive compensation package, which will be commensurate with experience. The package will include health and dental benefits after three months of continuous active employment as well as participation in the pension plan after twelve months of continuous active employment. The Club will make matching contributions to the London Hunt and Country Club pension plan of 5% of base salary upon eligibility.

The salary range is $70,000 to $90,000.
