You will lead and manage the Bermuda actuarial team along with supporting local management and underwriting in determining the strategic direction of the Bermuda region within the reinsurance segment. In addition, you will work towards improving our understanding of key drivers of the business to improve underwriting decisions and profitability. Part of your responsibility will relate to segment initiatives where there will be an expectation around your leadership involvement. Within all this work the expectation will be to contribute to overall segment goals but ensuring that local requirements are considered.

What will your essential responsibilities include?

\xc2\xb7 Provide leadership and direction to a high performing, diverse team of actuaries in support of both the Bermuda region and Global Pricing & Analytics goals.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure appropriate pricing support is provided to underwriters in Bermuda, Brazil, and Columbia across all lines of the business

\xc2\xb7 Assist with strategic direction in terms of lines of business to grow, shrink and hold along with other key strategic decisions for Bermuda

\xc2\xb7 Act as a key member and influencer on both the Reinsurance Bermuda and Pricing & Analytics leadership teams, advocating for a superior portfolio and leading the conversation for technical improvement and change

\xc2\xb7 Stay abreast of and appropriately communicate knowledge of industry changes, specifically changes that affect pricing

\xc2\xb7 Monitor, assess and provide quarterly reporting of the pricing and profitability of all business written in Bermuda including ensuring compliance with pricing guidelines within the Bermuda team

\xc2\xb7 Support the Head of Pricing and Analytics with respects to pricing, tools, business planning, profitability reviews, underwriting actions, compliance and capital modelling

\xc2\xb7 Ensure consistency in pricing methodology across all lines of business where appropriate within the Reinsurance Segment

\xc2\xb7 Conduct deals specific pricing reviews where necessary and required

\xc2\xb7 Understanding the drivers of results on a quarterly basis through involvement in the quarterly reporting process providing insight to reserving actuary on material movements and issues that the Bermuda region has experienced

\xc2\xb7 Partner with business areas to improve profitability, efficiency, effectiveness and controls

\xc2\xb7 Required to support legal entity work

You will report to the Chief Executive Officer, Reinsurance Bermuda.

\xc2\xb7 Ten plus (10+) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience of non-life insurance and/or reinsurance pricing

\xc2\xb7 Excellent written and verbal communication skills

\xc2\xb7 Ability to collaborate and build relationships across teams and regions

\xc2\xb7 Forward looking with an eye on continuous improvement

\xc2\xb7 Excellent management and leadership skills

\xc2\xb7 Adaptable and versatile, ability to juggle technical work with management

\xc2\xb7 Results driven, innovative problem solving along with a good understanding of the commercial environment
