Our sales team is hiring and we have an amazing opportunity for someone to join the team as Head of eBooks Sales UK & Northen Europe to lead, motivate and manager the EMENA eBooks Sales Team. By developing, implementing and executing a robust commercial strategy for eBooks and online sales across business areas, you will increase customer retention, revenue growth and brand awareness to expand market coverage within current and new market areas. You will also be responsible for:

  • Lead, Motivate and Manage the UK, Northern Europe and Sales Support eBooks teams to drive sales growth and delivery, setting clear objectives for sales and sales development
  • Develop, implement and successfully execute a robust commercial strategy for eBooks and On-line sales across business areas, increasing customer retention, revenue growth and brand awareness and expanding market coverage through current and new markets
  • Drive the development of a strategic framework of agent partnerships ensuring the development of effective agreements to ensure commercial robustness and defining remit of the relationship
  • Identify and execute strategic activity projects relating to quality improvement and the effectiveness of sales operations, delivering quantifiable business benefit
  • Provide effective commercial Risk Management for the eBooks and On-line business area, monitoring market trends and providing support to senior colleagues and stakeholders to enable effective response to changing market trends
  • Maintain regular formal and informal communication with core accounts to build trusted advisor status and a deep understanding of the customer's market and specific needs to provide a tailored sales service and drive the highest levels of customer service and satisfaction
  • Liaise closely with key departments e.g. Marketing, Editorial, Product Development and Customer Service to drive a coherent and joined up offering and communications to the customer
  • Build understanding in the wider business of the eBooks and On-line sales strategy, working with key internal colleagues across product channels to embed a collaborative and holistic approach to our customers throughout your team.
Qualifications
  • Significant experience of working in a sales environment with an understanding of the demands placed on sales and the support needs of a sales team
  • Experience of leading people and successfully motivating sales teams
  • Considerably knowledge of the academic publishing industry or the book/journals trade
  • Familiarity with key business models and industry stakeholders
  • The ability to influence, drive for results and establish clear agenda for department/division
  • Strong ability to communicate appropriately, both upstream and downstream within the organisation
  • Positive and flexible attitude, willing to take on many different types of tasks and apply to them the same level of effort and expertise
  • The ability to work independently and pro-actively, with awareness of when to delegate tasks
  • Willingness to travel within territory and to conferences, book fairs as required by the company
  • Target driven approach and the skills to manage sales plans and delivery
  • Ability to create and maintain positive and effective relationships with the sales team and other internal colleagues
