Job Description

The Head Chef will lead the kitchen by designing & presenting unique & high quality menu items to enhance the culinary experience of our customers while maintaining all food safety standards. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design unique & locally inspired menu items & recipes ensuring variety & quality.
  • Submit cost proposals for menu items.
  • Design appealing & standardized food presentation guidelines for each dish.
  • Control & direct the food preparation process in accordance with provincial food safety guidelines.
  • Determine food inventory needs, stocking & ordering
  • Monitor and reduce food waste
  • Manage, train & delegate tasks to kitchen assistant.
  • Prepare food orders as they are received by Taproom staff
  • Maintain a sanitary & tidy work environment in accordance with food safety guidelines
  • Clean & report maintenance needs for all kitchen equipment including dishwasher, ice machine, fridges & freezers, Merry Chef oven & Garland oven.
  • Work with the Front of House manager to improve kitchen procedures & efficiency
