. Interested in a career in corrections? Working in a half-way house environment is the best place to gain experience and knowledge.

Applicants must reside in Canada at time of application and have lived in Canada for a minimum 5 year period.

We are seeking a mature and reliable person who is interested in working in the corrections field.

Fluent in both official languages is preferred

along with

required

educational completion either a University Degree or College certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years in the human services field.

This is a

Casual

position, the shifts are varied and sometimes scheduled in advance with some last minute shifts being offered.

Please do not apply if you are not able to work overnight shifts.

The shifts can be daytime, evenings, overnights and weekends.

You must have the ability to Supervise 16-20 people in a fast paced environment while working under pressure.

Obtain information and prepare reports or case histories, Appraise clients' needs or eligibility for specific services, Provide suicide and crisis intervention, Resolve conflict situations, Supervise activities of clients living in half-way houses, Assist offenders in pre-release and release planning, Implement behaviour management programs, Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients
