Job descriptionWe are looking for an experienced Guest Services Supervisor to join our team at The DoubleTree by Hilton Halifax Dartmouth.The Guest Services Supervisor assists in the daily operation of the Front Desk and provides support to their team through training and coaching, as well as the broader hotel team by way of serving as Manager on Duty. This position ensures all guests receive a high level of service by guiding associates in their daily duties in accordance with hotel policies and procedures.Please note that requirements include:Minimum of 2 years of Hotel Front Desk experience, and demonstrated experience training and coaching staff. Both OnQ PMS / Hilton Brand experience are considered strong assets.Duties & Responsibilities: Assist in ensuring guest satisfaction; maximize room revenue by supervising the Front Office operation and implementing Brand and property service standards. Assist in recruitment and training of all new associates within the department. Address questions and problems relating to guest room accommodations and rates. Provide effective key control and participate in matters relating to guest room security. Ensure guest mail handling and message delivery systems functions efficiently. Develop and maintain associate incentive program, maintain this program and statistics. Maintain statistics on rooms and reservations, guest arrivals, guest departures, average occupancy rates and related information. Maintain reservation statistics, monitoring the training and associate performance in this area. Maintain and process all no show reservations for the hotel following Brand policy. Supervise daily operation of Front Office associates Develop a good working knowledge of the computer system and Front Office equipment. Monitor guestroom accounts to insure adherence to hotel credit and inventory control procedures. Input all group rooming lists and oversee all changes. Reply to all emails in a timely manner. Work with management team to increase yearly GSI scores. Acquire knowledge of hotel, in house facilities and local information to respond to guest inquiries. Know and follow all Health & Safety policies, and ensure they are adhered to by associates in the department. Keep immediate supervisors informed promptly of all problems or unusual matters. Attend monthly department and training meetings as scheduled. Perform other duties as required.Education & Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Education in Hospitality and/or Tourism considered a strong asset Minimum 2 years Front Office and/or hotel related experience.
