Group Controller -

Location: Chatham, ON

White Ash Group has been engaged by a fully licensed Cannabis company to recruit their next Group Controller.

The Group Controller will report directly to the Group CFO and be responsible for managing all Canadian and group-level financial and accounting functions.

Responsibilities:

Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and tax reporting.

Coordinating and preparing internal financial statements.

Overseeing regulatory reporting, including CSE and tax compliance.

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply.

Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Works with external auditors and provides needed information for the annual audit.

Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Must Have:

Post-Secondary in Business Administration: Masters in Business Administration or CPA designation required.

7-10 years experience in a senior financial role, preference to individuals with public company, growth stage company and/or merger and acquisitions experience.

Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing and/or Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities is considered an asset.

Experience with Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR & ED) is an asset.

IT knowledge and skills, including superior use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
