Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Snow Grader Operator to efficiently clear snow and ice from designated roadways during winter months. The ideal candidate will have experience operating snow removal equipment and possess a strong understanding of safety protocols to ensure safe and effective snow management. This role is essential for maintaining safe access during inclement weather conditions and supporting community safety.

Duties

Operate motor grader and related equipment to remove snow and ice from roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other designated areas Perform routine inspections and maintenance on graders to ensure optimal operation Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical knowledge to assist with minor repairs or adjustments as needed Apply salt or de-icing materials to surfaces to prevent ice buildup Coordinate with team members to prioritize routes and ensure timely snow removal during storm events Monitor weather conditions continuously to adapt operations accordingly Maintain detailed records of work completed and equipment used Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries during snow removal activities

Requirements

Proven experience operating motor grader or similar heavy machinery such as excavators or construction equipment Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and repair Familiarity with landscape maintenance, gardening, horticulture, irrigation, or general construction is a plus but not required Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and perform basic mechanical tasks Strong understanding of safety protocols related to operating heavy equipment in winter conditions Ability to work in cold weather environments for extended periods Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred Physical stamina to perform manual tasks including lifting, shoveling, or clearing debris as needed
