Position Overview: This role is part of Finning's Global Supply Chain Centre of Excellence - the group responsible for business, process, and system transformation at Finning. As a Supply Chain Optimization Analyst, you will be expected to provide the analytical might behind many of Finning's supply chain transformation and supply chain optimization initiatives. This role will support the identification, quantification, measurement, and execution of supply chain optimization opportunities. Working with functional and regional stakeholders, this role will seek to drive process and technology transformation projects, use data to tell stories and create action plans, and support the implementation of strategic supply chain projects. The overarching mandate of global supply chain optimization includes warehousing, transportation, end-to-end planning, manufacturing, and inventory management activities spanning our operations in Canada, South America, and the UK.

  • Operational Improvement (40%): Perform analysis relating to strategic supply chain and operational initiatives. Provide insight into trends or opportunities and identify long term supply chain capability requirements. Support decision making through data-driven story telling and develop analytical methodologies that support the business in achieving its goals. Identify and assess opportunities for improvement in supplier performance, internal logistics network operation performance, inventory management, and cost performance.
  • Business Transformation (30%): Work with Finning regions and functions to design and implement transformational initiatives for system, process, and general business operations. Design transformational initiatives to ensure high quality data for future analysis can be obtained. Take a balanced approach with M3, DBS, SAP, TMS, WMS, OMS, Tableau, PowerBI, and other applications to create a best-in-class technology eco-system for supply chain.
  • Strategic Projects (30%): Support strategic supply chain projects throughout their lifecycle, from scoping through to implementation and follow-up. Perform benchmarking and best practice research to develop best-in-class process to implement across Finning's supply chain. Lead individual project workstreams or initiatives.
Knowledge:
  • Strong knowledge of analytical and/or statistical methods.
  • Proficient in querying various data sources using SQL.
  • Strong knowledge in process design and/or technology transformation.
  • Exposure to multiple, and expertise in one or more areas of supply chain (warehousing, logistics and transportation, supply and demand planning, inventory management, returns management, order management, and manufacturing).
  • Experience or exposure to SAP, Infor MS, DBS, TMS, WMS, Tableau, PowerBI, Salesforce, asset tracking, scheduling, quality assurance programs, or master data management.
  • Strong financial acumen with an understanding of financial statements, activity-based costing, and business case evaluation.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or similar.
  • 4 to 8 years' experience in an analytical role in a supply chain, operations, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
  • Prior work experience with warehousing, planning, transportation, or manufacturing in agriculture, heavy equipment, automotive, logistics, MRO or management consulting considered a strong asset.
  • Working towards or holding a professional designation related to supply chain (eg. SCMP, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma) is considered an asset.
  • Business proficiency in Spanish considered a bonus.
