We currently have an opening for a GIS Technician in our Vernon or Vancouver offices. This role includes supporting environmental and engineering professionals in all aspects of project delivery from figure generation, data management, and spatial analysis. You are an excellent communicator, detailed orientated with strong time management skills and take initiative to continually learn. You will be joining a collaborative team of experienced professionals who are invested in developing your career. What you will be doing:

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to develop field programs, analyze information and deliver projects.
  • Preparing high-quality figures, maps and data sets.
  • Conducting spatial analytics, such as boundary delineation, impact quantification, habitat availability assessment, and contamination delineation.
  • Developing computerized models that predict vegetation and ecosystem classification or wildlife habitat suitability using empirical data and predictive datasets.
  • Data cleaning and management.
  • Supporting the use of mobile devices (e.g. tablets, GPS units) for geospatially-referenced field data collection and management using applications like Survey123, Avenza, AutoCAD.
  • Managing time and budget for assigned tasks.
  • Coordinating with other GIS analysts to ensure deliverable quality and format standards are consistent.
  • Contributing to business development, proposal writing, and fostering client relationships.



Job Requirements:
What you will bring to the table:
  • Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in a relevant field and/or applied technological program.
  • 2-5+ years of experience in consulting.
  • 2-5+ years of experience with ESRI, ArcGIS, ArcPro and ArcGIS Online.
  • Experience processing LiDAR or drone imagery is an asset.
  • Experience with QGIS, Manifold GIS, and Global Mapper is an asset.
  • Programming skills in SQL and Python is an asset.
  • Experience working with CAD data is an asset.
