GIS Technician Student

Leduc County, Nisku, Alberta

The opportunity

Leduc County is looking for a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician Student to join our team. Reporting to the Manager - Economic Development, this exciting opportunity assists with providing GIS services to support the County in enhancing GIS data to build a robust investment program. As a member of the Engineering team, the GIS Technician Student contributes to the achievement of the department\'s operational deliverables.

Key Responsibilities Include:

What you will do

• Create, develop and maintain spatial and attribute databases used in geographic Information System (GIS) applications, relational database management (RDBM) systems and other corporate business systems.

• Translate, integrate and manipulate data from various sources and formats to a set government standard and quality.

• Operates multiple GIS-related software, systems and corporate business applications to produce spatial analysis products.

• Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County\'s policies and administrative directives.

• Accountable for working in compliance with the Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.

• Performs related duties as required.

Must be enrolled in a GIS or data technology course/program and meet the duties ad responsibilities.

We offer a competitive hourly salary (currently under review), This opportunity is seasonal full-time and is 35 hours per week scheduled Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. with the possibly of some extended hours to meet operational requirements.

The office is located at 101-1101 5 St. Nisku, AB.
