Division: Technical Services, Natural Gas Division Location: Edmonton or Calgary, AB Salary: Starting rate is $40.97 per hour

Reporting to the Supervisor, Mapping & GIS this position is responsible for the maintenance and updating of ATCO’s Natural Gas mapping system of record, including the creation of GIS Presentation Mapping products. • Update data in GIS on as-built documents, engineering drawings and information submitted by various internal and external groups.
• Maintain the connected utility model
• Perform quality control checks of GIS data to ensure data integrity.
• Research company records to interpret system information.
• Produce, edit, analyze and model data as requested.
• Prepare specialized mapping products as required by various groups.
• Assist with the verification of data for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques and compliance with applicable standards and specifications.
• Manage and maintain system files and data to the required standards.
• Respond to inquiries and provide information as required.
• Assist in the development of GIS system procedures and standards for gas facility input, and the review of new applications and processes.
• Complete work within designated schedules and provide timely feedback when timeframes cannot be met.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology, GIS Technology, or equivalent related courses and experience, from a recognized technical institute.
• May be required to attain registration with A.S.E.T.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in a pipeline GIS role.
• Knowledge of industry standards and procedures.
• Working knowledge of ArcGIS Pro or an equivalent GIS application.
• Ability to read and understand as-built records.
• Familiarity with the project process and the ability to effectively manage information from various sources.
• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills along with the ability to express thoughts clearly both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work independently under tight time constraints with little or no direct supervision.
