Relevant du chef principal, gestion de categories, le ou la gestionnaire de categorie appuiera l'elaboration et la mise en oeuvre des strategies de ses categories pour stimuler la croissance des ventes et des benefices, tels que definis par la haute direction comme etant les plus importants pour atteindre les objectifs financiers et de mise en marche annuel de l'organisation.
Responsabilites specifiques

  • Negocier les ententes commerciales regionales avec les fournisseurs, les plans publicitaires et promotionnels, etc.
  • Analyser et gerer les rapports de ventes de facon hebdomadaire et prendre des actions visant a optimiser la performance de ses categories
  • Elaborer et surveiller des strategies et des plans de categorie pour tous les elements du mix de marchandisage, c'est-a-dire le mix de produits, les strategies de prix, le mix promotionnel, les evenements promotionnels, les strategies de marque d'entreprise
  • Analyse et fait la mise a jour des planogrammes de sa categorie pour atteindre les objectifs de croissance ciblee selon le calendrier
  • Developper des strategies de mise en marche des circulaires et carnets beaute
  • Assurer la rentabilite et de l'optimisation des marges grossistes et details de sa categorie
  • Gere le budget relie a ses categories
  • Assurer la gestion des prix de detail en mettant de l'avant des analyses de l'indexation versus la competition
  • Rester a l'affut des nouvelles tendances et de la competition afin d'identifier des opportunites tant au niveau des produits que des fournisseurs
  • Fournir un service et une expertise aux magasins a travers l'organisation
  • Assurer la liaison avec les departements cles pour s'assurer que tous les produits et l'arrimage des produits et des prix
  • Preparer et fournir mensuellement des mises a jour commerciales a la haute direction
  • Analyser les donnees du marche AC Nielsen et les donnees de scan a domicile pour mesurer les tendances des categories afin de tirer parti des opportunites
  • Negocier la participation des fournisseurs aux evenements annuels de vente au detail
  • Assure les communications aux magasins en lien avec les operations et strategies de ses categories
  • Repondre rapidement et efficacement a toutes les demandes des parties prenantes pour resoudre tout probleme
  • Effectuer d'autres taches assignees.
Exigences du poste
  • Diplome collegiale ou universitaire dans une discipline pertinente
  • Experience accrue dans l'analyse et la gestion des categories de produits
  • Sens aigu des affaires, capacite de voir la situation dans son ensemble tout en jonglant avec les details
  • Competences marquees en resolution de problemes
  • Excellente communication ecrite et verbale, bilingue (francais/anglais)
  • Experience avec Word, Powerpoint, Excel and PowerBi
  • Competences organisationnelles superieures
  • Excellentes competences en planification strategique et en negociation
  • Capacite a assurer une liaison efficace avec les principaux collaborateurs internes et la direction.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Category Management, the Category Manager will support the development and implementation of category strategies to drive sales and profit growth, as defined by senior management as being most important to achieve the organization's annual financial and marketing objectives.
Specific responsibilities
  • Negotiate regional business agreements with suppliers, advertising and promotional plans, etc.
  • Analyze and manage sales reports on a weekly basis and take actions to optimize the performance of the categories.
  • Develop and monitor category strategies and plans for all elements of the merchandising mix, such as product mix, pricing strategies, promotional mix, promotional events, and corporate brand strategies.
  • Analyze and update category planograms to achieve targeted growth objectives according to the schedule.
  • Develop marketing strategies for flyers and beauty catalogs.
  • Ensure profitability and optimization of wholesale and retail margins for the category.
  • Manage the budget related to the categories.
  • Manage retail prices by conducting analysis of indexing versus competition.
  • Stay up-to-date with new trends and competition to identify opportunities for both products and suppliers.
  • Provide service and expertise to stores throughout the organization.
  • Liaise with key departments to ensure product alignment and pricing.
  • Prepare and provide monthly business updates to senior management.
  • Analyze AC Nielsen market data and household scan data to measure category trends and leverage opportunities.
  • Negotiate supplier participation in annual retail sales events.
  • Communicate with stores regarding category operations and strategies.
  • Respond promptly and efficiently to stakeholder requests to resolve any issues.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.
Job Requirements
  • College or university degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in category analysis and management.
  • Strong business acumen, ability to see the big picture while juggling details.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, bilingual (French/English).
  • Experience with Word, Powerpoint, Excel and PowerBi
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Excellent strategic planning and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with key internal stakeholders and management.
